TA Allocation Principles

  • Core General Education Courses:
Core general education courses may apply for TA-ds or TAs. Each class may have a maximum of two TAs, with the following allocation ratio:
TA-d: For courses with 30 or more students, one TA-d per 30 students.
TA: For courses with 50 or more students, one TA per 50 students.
  • Elective General Education Courses:
For courses with 50 or more students, one TA may be applied for. Each class may have a maximum of two TAs.
  • Supporting General Education Courses:

Supporting general education courses should first apply for TA-d or TA subsidies at the original departments. If the enrollment exceeds 50 students, an additional TA-d or TA subsidy may be applied for from the Center for General Education.
*Each student may serve as a TA for no more than three general education courses per semester.
Due to the registration processes in the University’s information system and foreign student work visa requirements, TA positions are primarily for domestic students. Mainland Chinese students cannot be accepted as TAs by law. Non-domestic students must present a valid work permit with at least four months of remaining validity.
