Activity Overview: The Center for General Education at National Tsing Hua University proudly presents the Tsing Hua Mei Yi-chi Culture Camp for students from senior high school grades 10–12 and university 1st and 2nd-year students. This year’s camp takes Taiwan’s rich multicultural heritage as its core curriculum. From a global perspective, participants will explore the development and transformation of Indigenous communities, Hokkien and Hakka cultures, military dependents’ village memories and more in Taiwan. The camp also incorporates creative approaches such as cultural pathway exploration, theatrical performance, and creative writing to empower participants with diverse forms of cultural reinterpretation. Field research will center on the migration history of Hsinchu/Tek-chham/Pocaal, the culture of military dependents’ villages, and explorations around the NTHU campus. Through these activities, participants will gain deeper insights into the intertwined histories, cultural interactions, and future possibilities for Taiwan’s different ethnic groups. This will create a learning experience that places equal emphasis on theory and practice, and sparks cultural creativity.
