Being super rich from a rich family was common but changing fate from poor to rich was extraordinary. Coming from nothing and become a hero to their family, was one of the things how I can describe both of my grandparents. Getting trapped by his own sister, sailing to get a better life for family, rejected from their dream medical school because of sickness. Their hard work and dedications to their family and passion were truly a legend. Never forget where they from and care about people surround us was the only things remind me of them. When a flower bloom, it’s not only mean that only the flower is good, but the society around them was also positive and helping them to grow. Therefore, life isn’t only about me but it’s also about us.

即使相隔千里，中國人依舊對家庭負有道義責任，這在海外移民群體中尤為常見。不過，若合作的紐帶中斷，即使同一屋簷下，亦可形同陌路。偉明的報告不但透過自己父母雙方祖父輩的故事，揭示了中國家庭的特殊文化內涵，亦展現了20世紀下半葉以來，印尼華人的風俗文化在當地政治環境變遷中的遭遇。
